DAN: I absolutely loved Smashburger. Believe me, I have had my fair share of burgers in my day. I grew up in California, so I know In-N-Out burger pretty well. I got the feeling at Smashburger that I wasn’t eating fast food. The burger wasn’t perfectly round, so you know it was made by hand, not some frozen patty. It was well seasoned as well. I really like it. I got the Beehive burger with a fried egg. I think the best thing you can add to a burger is a fried egg, you should try it if you haven’t. It came with crispy little onions, barbecue sauce, a nice patty…it was really good. But the best part to me were the Smashfries. They are tossed in olive oil, garlic salt and rosemary. It was like eating appetizer bread at an Italian restaurant! Then their fry sauce was mixed with a bit of ranch as well, making it even better and very excellent with the fries. Couldn’t have gotten a better burger dinner for the price. And unlike In-N-Out, they have an actual menu, you know, with more than two options.

MICHELE: Just thinking about Smashburger is making me hungry! I could seriously go for some right now. I loved it too! So yummy! I got the original Smashburger with their special sauce and it was awesome! Like Dan said, their burgers are seasoned really well. It was also a really good size- they give you two options 1/3 lb. or 1/2 lb. I got the 1/3 lb. and it was definitely filling. My only complaint is that my burger got pretty messy and started falling apart. But I still loved it. I also loved the smashfries… they are good alone, but you really have to dip them in the fry sauce for the whole experience. It’s a fabulous combination. However, I have talked to a few people that really did not like their smashfries. I guess it’s just a taste you either love or hate… I suggest you try them and decide for yourself. I am already looking forward to the next time Dan and I go to Smashburger! If you are heading to Orem for In-N-Out I suggest you skip the long line there and head up the street to Smashburger.
